are 4 elementary schools and 1 middle and/or junior high school
with formal computer education beginning in kindergarten. Oak
Ridge High School offers a choice of 4 different foreign languages.
Students may participate in any of 12 interscholastic sports
teams. With 52% of the seniors taking the SAT's, the cumulative
score was 1080. Last year 65% of the graduating class went on

El Dorado National Forest is known for great camping, fishing, swimming
and boating. In addition to 175 lakes, reservoirs and abundant fishing
streams, it offers more than 300 miles of hiking, equestrian and cross-country
skiing trails. El Dorado County also boasts thousands of acres of
desolation wilderness. This area is a wonderland of spectacular alpine
forests, jagged granite peaks and clear mountain lakes. More than
50 miles of hiking trails crisscross the area and camping is allowed
off the trails. Hikers and campers can enter the area from any number
of surrounding locations, including Emerald Bay State Park, Echo Lake,
Fallen Leaf Lake and Meeks Bay. |
